Is it possible to trig more than one drum (or whatever is triggered) with just one microphone?
Yes, it is possible to trig several drums using the built-in 8-band filter or a third party filter/equalizer. This is done by isolating the specific frequencies that are significant to the sound that is triggered. To see how this is done watch "triggering multiple drums with one microphone" on the video page (Coming very soon). Even though it is possible, we recommend using one microphone per drum as it gives the absolute best result.
What sound card do I need?
A low latency sound card is needed to give optimal performance during real time triggering. If ProTrig is used only as a trigger for already recorded audio tracks in a DAW all sound cards will work fine. To trig many drums simultaneously a sound card with multiple inputs is recommended.
What kind of microphone gives the best results?
ProTrig works with any kind of microphone. However, directional microphones are advantageous, especially when triggering tricky sounds like cymbals, massive drumkits suffering from a lot of bleed, etc.
Will there be support for RTAS, AU?
Yes, we are currently working on it.
